Actinium is a rare and highly radioactive element (with a half-life of about 21.7 years for the most stable isotope, Ac-227), and working with it requires special handling, equipment, and precautions. As such, XPS analysis of this element is extremely rare.

Most studies on actinium involve its oxides (e.g., Ac₂O₃) or actinium-based materials like actinide complexes or compounds for nuclear research.
